History of the baby quilts

When Olivia was about 6 months old I decided I was not going to make a baby book for my kids' milestones, because I knew I would not be able to keep a thorough record with all my kids.  At the time, I didn't know I was going to have 4 kids in five years, but keeping data points like that just did not seem like something I would like to do.  After all, I had my baby book and I knew what it looked like- a book with a few pictures that had turned orange, but mostly empty and I was totally fine with that.  So my decision was final; no baby books for me and I felt great about that.

What I did want to do was make a baby quilt for each child.  Olivia's was the easiest.  I confess, I bought some of her fabric before she was even born.  I easily finished her quilt before she was born.  I finished Sam's, albeit very small, days before he was born.  Chloë's quilt was finished a few months after I had Lauren.  That's right, Lauren!  I mean it is a little understandable because Lauren and Chloë are about 18 months apart.  Olivia was a little over 3 years old and Sam was 22 months old.  The only place I had to sew was on the kitchen table, which is always in use.  Thanks goes to Dory who helped me get it finished.  And as for Lauren's quilt.  Well, she helped me pick out some of the fabric and I finished it when she went to kindergarten! Ha.
