Birthday parties for friends

Today Olivia went to her second birthday party and later Sam went to his first birthday party. Olivia went to a skateboarding party for a Aiden, a boy in her St. Timothy's preschool class. The party consisted of pizza, cheetos, and fruit. Olivia had 4 HUGE servings of cheetos and a little watermelon. Then they played some games. Olivia spent the first half of the party next to me eating. Then she joined in the games and watched from a distance as Aiden opened his gifts. Olivia did get in line to hit the pinata and enjoyed the frosting off the cake. Then she went back for more cheetos. She was so cute in her sebra striped glasses.
Later in the day Sambo had his first birthday party at The Little Gym. I was very excited for the party for his friend Grayson b/c this was the first party/ kids social event. I wanted to see how he would react. Sometimes Sam is very shy/scared that Daniel or I will leave him somewhere. Well at this party he was so cute. There were about 8-10 other kids. He followed the direction of the gym teachers and was very coordinated (we knew that). He was independent and happy. Every now and again he would wave at me or wrinkle his nose at me b/c he was happy!

My childhood best friend

Leslie and I met in 5th grade at Hopi Elementary school. We were best friends from the start. She and her husband, Mike, now live in North Carolina. They were out for the weekend to visit. We went to In-N-Out Burger and to the park. It was nice to catch up with her and see her 4 month baby Claire.

Chloë's ski trip

While the rest of the family learned how to ski Chloë and I sat inside the lodge and relaxed. Chloë did go to the Play Academy for a few days, but she got sick. Mostly we sat in the lodge and watched skiers come down the mountain and get on the lift.

First day on the slopes

Olivia and Kira were very excited to hit the slopes!

"Here we go!"

Judging from that smile I would say Olivia loves skiing!

Daniel is also up for his first ski lesson- let's see if he is a lucky as the girls.

Sambo was very upset he was not going skiing. So Grandma put him in ski school as well.

Sam was hesitant to go on the skis with the teacher.

As soon as dad came Sam was all smiles as he skied down the mountain.

It was a great day for all!

Easter Sunday Solitude Utah

All my sisters and their families meet at a cabin in Solitude Utah for a week of skiing hosted by my parents. Mike W. made our Easter dinner. It was wonderful, as usual.

We spent the next week at the Moonbeam Lodge at Solitude in Cottonwood Canyon Utah.

Cuties even when sick

Sam had a 48 hour bug, that Olivia now has. My kids are so good when they are sick. Mostly they just want me to snuggle with them. Sam just sat on the couch for 2 days and wanted hugs. This morning Olivia woke up, walked into the kitchen and threw up at the breakfast table. Then, the first thing she said was "Hi Chloe!" in a very cheerful voice.

"Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear....

The Lone Ranger Rides Again!"

A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty
"Hi-ho Silver away!", said Sam

I guess he must be feeling like the Lone Ranger around all these girls. Thankfully, Dad has agreed to be Sam's sidekick, Tonto.

We had Andrea's family over for a nice dinner and then a few friends came to celebrate Daniel's 30th birthday. He got just what he wanted. The book, Liberal Fascism, wrinkle free shirts, and a hubcap.

Olivia's camera

This is one of Olivia's favorite dresses.

Sam lined his trucks up and asked Olivia to take a picture. They are great friends.

"Livvie, take my picture."

Park Days

Daniel tries to get home early from work so he can take the kids to the park a couple times a week.

I decided to go today to document their fun. It was very windy,
but coats were still not wanted.

Cuties

I am going to title my post "Cuties" when I just have something cute I want to remember.

Chloe is barely one and I know she is going to have photogenic issues. She is a ham for the camera, but she always closes her eyes in anticipation of the flash!

Sam on the other hand thinks when I say, "Cheese"
that means close your eyes and smile.
I think Sam's favorite color is yellow.
He always colors with a yellow marker on yellow paper.

Livvie loves any color, and a lot of it. She colors everyday. Her new thing is to color the entire page one color after she has made a drawing. Olivia draws people, houses, grass, dirt, and swirly non-shapes, then colors them in with different colors.

Winter Break in Phoenix

Olivia had a week off preschool, so I took the 3 kids to Phoenix to visit Barbie, Mike, Kira, Jim and Leslie.
We went swimming everyday.

Barbie treated Kira and Olivia to matching "parade" outfits and a pedicure.

Sam got some Boy Toys.
